Moot Court Competitions
Frederick Douglass Moot Court Competition
Each year, the National Black Law Students Association
(NBLSA) holds a moot court competition, in honor of Frederick
Douglas, in the spring. See www.nblsa.org for more information about this and other national
events.
William McKnight Moot Court Competition
Nixon Peabody, LLP, in Rochester, New York,
established the William McKnight Moot Court Competition. Mr. McKnight
was the first black partner at Nixon and also, a Cornell BLSA
alum. With the assistance of the firm, BLSA sponsors a moot court
competition for black undergraduates. BLSA members serve as the
coaches for this competition, while local attorneys and professors
act as judges.
